What is an M3U File?
An M3U file is a plain text file that contains information about media files and their locations. It's commonly used for IPTV playlists, streaming services, and media players.
M3U files typically contain:
- #EXTM3U - Header that identifies the file as an M3U playlist
- #EXTINF - Extended information about each channel/track
- URL - The actual stream or file location
How to Edit Using M3U Editor
1 Upload Your File
Go to the Upload page and either:
- Upload an M3U file from your computer
- Enter a URL to fetch the M3U directly
2 Browse Groups & Channels
After uploading, you'll see all groups (categories) in your playlist. Click "Show/Hide Channels" to see individual channels within each group.
3 Select What You Want
Use the checkboxes to select:
- Entire groups (all channels in that category)
- Individual channels
- Use the search box to filter by name
4 Save & Download
Click "Save Playlist" to create your filtered M3U file. Then download it or upload directly to SIPTV.app.

Attributes explained:
tvg-id - Unique identifier for EPG matching
tvg-name - Display name of the channel
tvg-logo - URL to channel logo image
group-title - Category/group name
Pro Tips
- Use the Search: Type group names separated by commas (e.g., "USA, Sports, Movies") to filter multiple categories at once.
- Large Files: For files over 100MB, the processing may take longer. Be patient!
- JSON Builder: If your IPTV provider offers an API, use the JSON Builder for better organized channels.
- Multi-File Merge: Use the Multi Editor to combine channels from multiple M3U files.
